CHICAGO — The FBI is investigating two bank robberies in Northwest Side neighborhoods Thursday, a spokeswoman said.
The first robbery took place at the Avondale Liberty Bank at 2932 N. Milwaukee Ave. at about 2 p.m., said Special Agent Joan Hyde, an FBI spokeswoman.
A man in his 50s robbed the bank. A suspect matching his description was later apprehended by Chicago police, she said. No charges have been filed yet.
At 2:17 p.m., two men robbed the Banco Popular at 3956 W. North Ave. in Humboldt Park, Hyde said. The men were armed, she said. One person was in custody, Hyde said. She had no further details.
