West Town Violent Purse-Snatching Suspects Sought By Police

CHICAGO — Police are looking for two men who attacked women on three separate occasions this month in West Town before taking their purses.

One robber is described as a black man between ages 20-30 standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8 and weighing 120-150 pounds. The second is described as a 6-foot-tall black man between ages 25-35 and weighing around 200 pounds.

The incidents occurred:

• At 9:40 p.m. May 12 in the 1100 block of North Wood Street.

• At 12:25 a.m. May 22 in the 1700 block of West Augusta Boulevard.

• At 5:07 p.m. May 24 in the 1800 block of West Fulton Street.

Police said residents should stay calm if confronted by an assailant. Anyone with information on the purse snatchings is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8382.
