CHICAGO — A Roseland man was charged in a 2012 murder in his neighborhood.
Wendell Haywood, 21, of the 10600 block of South Perry Avenue is due in court Thursday for the murder of 24-year-old Travis Perkins on May 9, 2012.
Perkins, of the 10500 block of South Wabash Avenue, was shot at 1:10 p.m. in the first block of West 108th Place, police told the Tribune at the time.
After being shot in his chest, Perkins was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Haywood, of the 10600 block of South Perry Avenue, was arrested Tuesday after he was identified as the shooter in the case, police said.
