Friday

Capone's Casting Call at Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 6-9 p.m.

Learn the ways of 1920s bootleggers, flappers, FBI agents, teetotalers and mobsters with Friday's installment of the "Theater Workshop: Voice's of the City" lead by Kristen Leahey, resident dramaturg at Northlight Theatre. Discover how to use the characters' stories to influence your cast while sampling spirits to boost the creative juices. Tickets are $40 or $30 for members. The workshop is open to all level of writers.

Everyone Orchestra at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 8:30 p.m.

Check out the American improv project with a revolving cast of musicians Everyone Orchestra at the "Summercamp Make a Difference Celebration." The roster features Matt Butler, Joel Cummins (Umphrey's McGee), Al Schnier, Marc Brownstein, Mike Greenfield, Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman. Tickets for the 18-and-older show are $22 in advance or $25 at the door.

Lucky Peterson at Chicago B.L.U.E.S. Bar, 2519 N. Halsted St., 9:30 p.m.

Lucky Peterson is a talented lead guitarist and fantastic organist able to leave the instruments behind to deliver first rate vocals.

Zoo-ologie at Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark St., 8 p.m. (7 p.m. for VIP)

Proceeds from this annual fundraiser help keep the zoo free all year round. The upscale cocktail party, inspired by the elegance of the zoo's Nature Boardwalk, will feature some of the city's most creative mixologist and dining options from 15 of Chicago's hottest spots including Sunda, Ay Chiwawa and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Musical performances by DJ Rock City and Spoken Four. General Admission tickets range from $100-$150. VIP Tickets range from $150-200.

Family Drama Club at Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 1:30-3 p.m.

Role play with Chicago theater students to discover you voice in the Theater Workshop: Voice's of the City lead by Kristen Leahey, resident dramaturg at Northlight Theatre. The workshop is recommended for kids ages 6 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult and vice versa. Tickets are $20 for adults and $40 for kids.

Carlos Johnson at Chicago B.L.U.E.S. Bar, 2519 N. Halsted St., 9:30 p.m.

The Chicago native has recorded with Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues along with Son Seals. Doors open at 8 p.m. and Carlos Johnson and the Serious Blues Band take the stage at 9:30 p.m.

Ronnie Hicks and Mahseen Company formed and the '70s, recording and performing with artists Cicero Blake, Artie "Blues Boy" White, Nellie "Tiger" Travis and Jimmy Nick.
