NEAR WEST SIDE — Chicagoans will get a chance to let their "freak" flags fly at Lagunitas' grand opening party — officially the first time the California-based brewery will be open to the public.

Party-goers on Saturday and Sunday will be treated to roving circus performers, a spectacle via Redmoon Theater, burlesque, bands and — of course — plenty of beer.

"It’s freaky is what it is," said Karen Hamilton, Lagunitas' director of regional marketing. "We’ve been doing this in Cali for the past five years. It’s like an adult entertainment playground."

Chloe Riley chats about the new brewery's big bash this weekend:

Hamilton said she also expected Lagunitas' taproom — a tasting area that overlooks the brewing action — to be open by early June.

While Saturday's tickets have sold out, there are still tickets available for Sunday from noon-5 p.m. The $40 ticket includes four tastings and a souvenir mug. Those looking for the fun without the booze can also purchase $30 "Designated Driver" tickets.

Proceeds from the event will go toward Rock For Kids, a nonprofit that provides music education to underserved children in Chicago.
