Four Dead, 18 Wounded in Weekend Gun Violence

CHICAGO — Four people were killed and at least 18 wounded in shootings Friday night through Sunday.

On Mother's Day, 15-year-old Vaughn Holeman was shot dead a couple blocks from his West Pullman home.

Xavier Tripp, 25, was fatally shot in a West Garfield Park drive-by Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the day, 35-year-old Cesar Nieves was killed in Little Village. And on Friday night, Summer Moore, 37, was shot dead at a relative's prom party in Morgan Park.

In non-fatal shootings, 18 people were wounded over the weekend. From Saturday night to Sunday, 12 people were hurt, including a man shot in his eye outside a Lakeview bar. Six others were wounded Friday to Saturday.

Also over the weekend, police shot and killed a man in Austin. Officers said the man pointed a gun toward them.
