Nine Shot, Three Fatally, in Chicago Since Friday Night

CHICAGO — At least nine people were shot, three fatally, in incidents across the city since Friday night.

Summer Moore, a 37-year-old woman from Marquette Park, was shot dead in a Morgan Park front yard, and a 34-year-old man was killed in Little Village. A 25-year-old man was shot to death in West Garfield Park Saturday afternoon.

In other shootings:

• An 18-year-old boy was wounded in a possible drive-by shooting in Woodlawn, police said.

About 6:45 p.m. Saturday, the teen was in the 6200 block of South Stony Island Avenue when he was shot in his left leg, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman. The teen was taken to Jackson Park Hospital where his condition stabilized. A black vehicle was seen fleeing the scene following the shooting, police said.

• About 1:30 p.m. Saturday, a 16-year-old boy shot himself in his leg in Greater Grand Crossing, police said. The boy was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition.

• About 2 a.m. Saturday in Austin, a 30-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk when he was shot in the 5500 block of West Quincy Street, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman. He was shot twice in his left leg and taken by a relative to West Suburban Hospital.

• In North Lawndale, a 22-year-old man walking on the sidewalk in the 3900 block of West Grenshaw Street was shot in his leg, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he is in good condition. The shooting occurred at 1:56 a.m. Saturday.

• In a Humboldt Park shooting that may have been gang-related, a 23-year-old man was shot in his stomach while in the 1400 block of North California Avenue about 1:20 a.m Saturday., Estrada said. That man's condition was unknown.

• In West Pullman, a 21-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of East Kensington Avenue when he was shot in his right arm about 10:40 p.m. Friday by someone in a gray minivan, Estrada said. A friend took the man to St. Margaret Hospital in Indiana. The shooting may be gang-related, authorities said.
