Urban History Seminar at Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 6:30 p.m.

Pablo Delano, a photographer and professor of fine arts at Trinity Christian College, presents "Rediscovering Railroads," an extension of his father Jack Delano's "Railroaders." Delano photographed descendants of those his father photographed during World War II. Tickets cost $15, $12 for members or $6 for students.

Emblems 10th Anniversary Tour at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

Matt Pond PA, Emblems and the Lighthouse and the Whaler will all perform at Lincoln Hall for the 10th Anniversary Tour show. Tickets for the 18-and-over show are $15 in advance or $17 at the door.

Paradise Lost and Found at Cortelyou Commons at DePaul University, 2324 N. Fremont St., 6 p.m.

Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month the DePaul Humanities Center will convene for a conference celebrating the art, nature, culture and history of indigenous Hawaiian people. The conference will feature several live performances celebrating Hawaiian music and dance featuring ukuleles, singing, chanting and hula. The conference opens Friday with multimedia lecture performance and continues from 1-8 p.m. Saturday with a full day of lectures and performances.

Gord Downie, the Sadies and the Conquering Sun at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

A balance of ferocity and craft is apparent on every song played by the high energy acoustic combo. Doug Paisley is also scheduled to perform. Tickets for the 21-and-over show are $20.

Chicago Gold Coast Film Festival at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 9 p.m.

Watch 15 comedy films in one night and stay for drinks and music at the epic post party. Tickets include the movie, candy and popcorn and are $35 in advance. Doors open at 8 p.m. and movies begin at 9 p.m.

Family Film Series at Facets, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave., 9:30 a.m.

The second Saturday of every month is Family Film Series at Facets. On Saturday watch the animated live action short film "Mum's the Word," which celebrates mothers, grandmothers and all motherly figures. The award-winning Russian file runs for 58 minutes and is appropriate for ages 8 and older. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children.

Saloons of the L at the Chicago History Museum, 160 N. Clark St. 1-4 p.m.

Spend the afternoon visiting saloons under historic "L" stops and learn how saloons and the "L" helped mold the city. Tickets are $30 for museum members and $40 for non-members.
