RAVENSWOOD — If you missed out on Half Acre's annual release of the highly coveted Galactic Double Daisy Cutter, you're in luck.
Bottles of the brew sold out in six hours at Half Acre on Friday and in two minutes the following day at Bottles and Cans. But Fountainhead nabbed a supply and has been holding it in reserve for Saturday's rooftop Brew-B-Cue.
Chef Cleetus Friedman will be serving up a variety of smoked meats paired with Half Acre brews. The Galactic Double is suggested as the beverage of choice to wash down St. Louis-style brisket, but no one will stop you from quaffing a pint with an order of Georgia mustard BBQ pork.
The Brew-B-Cue is set for noon Saturday at Fountainhead, 1970 W. Montrose Ave., where the rooftop bar has been named one of the 10 best in Chicago.
