Edgewater Man Shot in April Dies of Wounds

CHICAGO — A man wounded by gunfire last month died of his wounds Tuesday, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

John J. Myles, 45, was shot in his stomach while sitting in a vehicle in the 1700 block of West Rosehill Drive in Edgdewater about 11:30 a.m. on April 19, police said.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition. He was pronounced dead at 8:48 a.m. Tuesday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the Medical Examiner's Office said. An autopsy determined he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
