CHICAGO — Police have issued a community alert after a man tried to lure a 12-year-old girl into his car in Ravenswood.
The girl was walking in an alley of Western Avenue near Montrose Avenue about 8:15 a.m. Monday, police said, when she was approached by a man in a white or light gray four-door car.
The driver talked to the girl "with the intention of luring her into the vehicle," police said, but the girl ran away.
Officers described the driver as a 30- to 35-year-old Asian man with short, dark hair. He spoke with an accent and drove a mid-sized car.
