LINCOLN PARK — The family-friendly John's Place restaurant is closing its doors after 20 years to reinvent the restaurant.

The restaurant, which has been opened at 1200 W. Webster Ave. since 1994, will close in late May.

Owner John Manilow and his wife Lynn will reopen the new concept this summer titled White Oak Tavern & Inn.

White Oak Tavern & Inn will focus on farm-driven, Midwestern inspired food and drink with emphasis on craft cocktails, beers and small batch bourbons.

"Both the neighborhood and the restaurant landscape have evolved and changed over the last two decades and now it's time for a change for John's Place," John and Lynn Manilow said in a statement.

The Roscoe Village John's Place location will remain unchanged at 2132 W. Roscoe Ave.
