West Elsdon Man Dies From Weekend Shooting

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old who was shot over the weekend died Monday night from his wounds, authorities said.

Andres Servantes, 22, of the 4000 block of West 58th Place in the West Elsdon neighborhood, died Monday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Servantes was shot in his head and shoulder about 10:10 p.m. Friday while sitting in a car in the 8100 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue in Ashburn, police said.

He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:53 p.m. Monday, according to the medical examiner's office.

Servantes is the fifth person to die from gun violence over a violent weekend that saw a total of 37 people shot.
