CHICAGO — A 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Boystown Monday afternoon, police said.
The woman was walking southbound in an alley in the 3500 block of North Halsted Street when she was sexually assaulted about 4:25 p.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman, citing preliminary information.
The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in "stable condition," Pacheco said.
Police said the attacker was a 25- to 32-year-old black man in a black skullcap. He was about 5-foot-5 and wearing blue jeans and white gym shoes, police said.
After the attack, the man ran away and the victim called police.
No one was in custody.
