Washington Park Shooting Kills Man, Wounds Woman

CHICAGO — A 32-year-old man was shot to death in Washington Park early Sunday.

The victim and a woman were standing outside in the 6000 block of South Indiana Avenue when someone opened fire about 2:40 a.m., said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.

Corey Brownlee, 32, who lived on the block, was shot in his chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m., authorities said.

The woman, 27, was shot in her lower right leg and is listed in "stable condition" at Stroger, Sullivan said.

No one was in custody.

No further information was immediately available.
