ROGERS PARK — Victor Santana said the apartment building he helped transform into high-end condos could be a trend-setter for Rogers Park.

"This is something that’s probably going to set a trend — we are at the cusp," said Santana, who has been managing the renovation of the four-flat at 6900 N. Sheridan Road for the past year. "That area is primed for tons of redevelopment because you have some beautiful buildings there."

Santana said the building was constructed at the turn of the century and was in bad shape when work began. The building was given a complete overhaul.

"The only thing that was keeping everything in was the plaster on the inside of the building," he said.

The building's owners, Lucy Sielski and Albert Lakomy, were selling the six condos in the building starting at $499,000. But now Lakomy said he's looking for a buyer to take the whole building. It's listed at $2,999,000, he said.

Santana said "a few local area entities" were taking a look.
