CHICAGO — An Englewood man has been charged in what police say was an accidental shooting of a 21-year-old woman Wednesday morning.

Shaquille Sankey, 20, of the 6400 block of South May Street, was charged with one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon for possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition without a valid Firearm Owner Identification card.

Around 12:45 a.m., Sankey and a 21-year-old woman were in a house in the 6400 block of South May Street when Sankey "accidentally shot" the woman in the right knee, police said.

The woman was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where she was treated and released, police said.

Two more weapons were recovered from the scene, police said.
