EDGEWATER — Mariano's plans to host its second job fair Thursday in Edgewater for as many as 100 positions that have not been filled, officials said.

About 325 of the store's 425 positions have been filled so far, said Jess Terry, chief human resources officer at Mariano’s.

A Mariano's representative didn't say how many of those jobs are part-time and how many are full-time.

Residents have said they were excited about the store's April opening in the former Dominick's. And some have expressed frustration that the conversion has taken so long.

In early March, it appeared little work had been done inside the store other than the removal of Dominick's paraphernalia.

But by Tuesday, Mariano's signs had been installed outside of the building. Inside, aisle markers had been installed.

A customer service representative greeting pharmacy customers and curious neighbors said they were expecting to open in "late April."

Job seekers are invited to attend the fair from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday at the store, 5201 N. Sheridan Road.

Attendees will meet one-on-one with a recruiter, first-come, first-served. Applicants should dress professionally and bring a copy of their resume and photo ID.

Mariano’s is hiring for a host of positions: bagging, bakery, catering, cashiers, coffee bar, deli, department managers, floral, food demo, hot foods/line cook, meat and seafood, overnight stocking, produce/salad bar, store management, sushi, and wine and spirits.
