LINCOLN SQUARE — A 400,000-square-foot IKEA store is coming to Lawrence Avenue, with representatives from the Swedish mega-retailer promising to offer neighbors a special discount on lingonberry products as a trade-off for what's sure to be massive traffic congestion.

Before you all storm the alderman's office with complaints ... April Fools.

It's just the Greater Rockwell Organization having some fun with its latest monthly newsletter, playing merry prankster on April 1.

Along with the IKEA announcement, GRO shared news of a slide proposed for the Western Brown Line station as a replacement for stairs.

"Between noon and 3 p.m. on weekends, the slide will double as a water slide," stated a non-existent CTA official. "This built-in water park will be free to all Ventra users. Please, please, please activate your Ventra cards soon. We promise it's not that bad."
