CHICAGO — A man tried to lure a 10-year-old boy into his car Monday morning as the boy walked to school in Wicker Park, police said.

The boy was walking in an alley in the 1300 block of North Claremont Avenue when a white man in a dark vehicle pulled up alongside him sometime between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m., police said.

The man rolled down his passenger-side window and yelled, "Hey, kid, come here and get in my car," police said. The child said "no" and headed southbound, as the car continued north.

As soon as the boy got to school, he told his teacher about the incident.

Police said the man may have approached other children a few minutes later in the next block.

The boy described the suspect as a white man wearing a black ski mask and black ski jacket. He had a light-colored goatee or beard, and his car was a black four-door Lincoln with white pinstripes.

Cops ask anyone with information to call 312-744-8200.
