LOGAN SQUARE — A man and woman are in custody early Tuesday morning after they attempted to shoot someone and then crashed their car on the Northwest Side, police said.

About 1:55 a.m., a man and woman were driving in a sedan near Fullerton and Kimball avenues in Logan Square when they fired shots at another car, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

Police officers saw the shooting, Greer said. The man and woman tried to flee the scene but struck "several parked cars" a short distance later.

A gun was recovered at the scene, and the two were taken into custody. They were taken to St. Mary Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, Greer said.

As of Tuesday morning, no files had been charged against the man or woman, and police believe the shooting may have been gang related.
