Overnight Shootings Wound 10

CHICAGO — At least 10 people were wounded in citywide shootings Saturday night and Sunday.

• The most recent incident happened about 3:55 a.m. Sunday in West Pullman, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman. Two women were sitting in a car in the 11800 block of South Parnell Avenue when a van pulled up and someone inside opened fire.

A 36-year-old woman is in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center after being shot in her side. A 33-year-old was shot in her arm and taken to MetroSouth Medical Center.

• About 3:20 a.m. in Belmont Cragin, a 30-year-old man was shot in his hand, Gaines said. The man was sitting in a car in the 4600 block of West Cortland Street when someone began shooting.

The victim was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.

• Three men were shot in Englewood in the 6100 block of South Normal Avenue about 2:32 a.m. Sunday, Gaines said.

A 39-year-old man was struck in his calf, a 42-year-old man was shot in his ankle and a 36-year-old man was hit in his thigh. All three were listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital.

• In West Town, two males were shot in the 700 block of North Sangamon Street about 1:05 a.m. Sunday. Gaines said both males, whose ages were unknown, were shot in their arms and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

• Police in South Shore fired shots in the 7600 block of South Paxton Avenue at 10:17 p.m. Saturday, Gaines said. No one was shot, he said.

• Two women were shot in West Pullman about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, Gaines said. The women were driving down the 600 block of West 124th Street when they heard shots and felt pain.

A 24-year-old woman was shot in her knee, while a 28-year-old woman was shot in her foot. Both were listed in good condition at Roseland Community Hospital.
