CHICAGO — A 59-year-old man has died after he was involved in a fight Wednesday in Rogers Park.

The fight took place about 1 p.m. in the 7100 block of North Clark Street, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman. Two men were fighting outside on the street.

Michael Tingling, 59, of the 7100 block of North Ridge Avenue, was taken in serious condition to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:46 p.m.

Police are classifying the case as a death investigation. As of early Thursday, it was still unclear why the men were fighting or whether Tingling's death was a direct result of the fight.

A 58-year-old man is in custody. Charges are pending.
