Man Accused in 2011 Murder Charged in Second Slaying

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man already in custody for another murder was charged Thursday for a fatal 2011 shooting that killed another man.

Dwayne Timberlake is charged with killing Khristopher Daniels in Greater Grand Crossing.

Police said that on April 10, 2011, about 4:30 p.m., Daniels was stopped at a traffic light behind Timberlake's car in the 7400 blokc of South Vincennes Avenue when Timberlake exited the vehicle and began shooting.

Daniels tried to escape by reversing his car, but he hit another vehicle. Timberlake continued firing, police said, fatally wounding Daniels.

Timberlake is charged with first-degree murder, and is due in court Friday. Timberlake was charged in November in the murder of a 24-year-old woman in February 2011. He is also facing unrelated vehicluar hijacking charges, records show.
