Man Sexually Assaults Woman in Gangway, Flees on Bike, Police Say

CHICAGO — A man sexually assaulted a woman in a Hermosa gangway before fleeing on a bike early Tuesday morning, police said.

The incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near Armitage Avenue and Pulaski Road in Hermosa just west of Logan Square, according to a community alert from the Chicago Police Department.

The man followed the 19-year-old woman before pulling her into a gangway, where she was assaulted.

After the incident, the man left the area on a bike.

The suspect is described as a black man between 5-feet-10 and 6 feet tall, weighing 165 to 185 pounds with black hair. He was wearing a black and yellow letterman-style jacket, a white tank top and blue jeans, the alert said.
