COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 48-year-old woman used her teeth as a weapon against another patron at Bucktown dance club Dolphin over the weekend, according to court records.

Mary Zavala was following another group of bar-goers and bumped into one of them twice, Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said in court Tuesday.

The group tried to avoid Zavala, of Nashville, Tenn., Antonietti said. But a fight broke out, and Zavala bit a 43-year-old Bronzeville woman multiple times, permanently disfiguring her lip, Antonietti said.

The woman will need reconstructive surgery, prosecutors said.

A Cook County judge ordered Zavala held on $150,000 bail on a charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm.
