CHICAGO — Four people were shot in shootings citywide since Friday night, including a man found shot in a car in West Town, police said.
Witnesses heard shots fired and found a man shot in the driver's side of a black car about 12:40 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Huron Street, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is in critical condition after being shot in his back.
In other shootings:
• A 19-year-old man was shot in his leg about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4700 block of West Harrison Street in Austin, Estrada said. The man drove himself to Loretto Hospital, where he was stabilized.
• Also in Austin, a 19-year-old man was shot in his left buttocks and a 17-year-old boy in his right thigh while walking in the 400 block of North Central Avenue about 9:25 p.m. Friday, Estrada said. Both were sent to Stroger where their conditions stabilized. The shooting may be gang-related, as both victims have gang ties.
