Belinda Carlisle Headlining Market Days 2014

BOYSTOWN — Annual summer festival Market Days this year might just be a heaven that's a place on earth — Belinda Carlisle is headlining.

The 55-year-old singer is the former lead singer of '80s band The Go-Go's, one of the most successful all-female bands in American history with songs like "We Got the Beat" and "Head Over Heels."

Carlisle later went on to have a flourishing solo career, with singles like "Heaven is a Place on Earth" and "Mad About You."

Market Days is popular, annual two-day street festival with music, food and arts vendors on Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison. The event is run by the Northalsted Business Alliance, and this year's festival will run Aug. 9 and Aug. 10.
