LINCOLN PARK — The Children's Memorial Hospital redevelopment plan passed its first hurdle last week at the city's Plan Commission, but the next step has been pushed back a month.

The $350 million plan to transform the former hospital site was originally set to go in front of the Zoning Committee of the City Council on Thursday.

The plan will now be considered at the March 24 meeting.

Ald. Michele Smith (43rd) said the decision to move the proposal to a later date was due to "sheer scheduling" and was not a move to delay the process.

The city's Plan Commission unanimously supported the proposal last Thursday after hours of testimony from neighbors both in support and against the developer.
