CHICAGO — A man was shot dead and three teens wounded in shootings on Chicago's West Side Saturday night, police said.

Police said 32-year-old Michael Redmond was driving in the 200 block of North Latrobe when someone pulled up next to him and opened fire, striking him multiple times, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

Redmond, of the 6200 block of West Wabansia Avenue, continued to drive, hitting several parked cars, before coming to rest in the 5500 block of West Washington Boulevard, she said. He was taken to Loyola Medical Center in critical condition, and was pronounced dead there at 10:19 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

A handgun was recovered from Redmond's vehicle, police said. No one is in custody and Area North detectives are investigating.

Also Saturday night, three teens were shot in Lawndale, police said.

One boy, 17, was shot in the groin. Another, also 17, was wounded in the right hand. The third teen, 18, was struck in the inner left thigh, Sedevic said.

The three were walking with a group along the 1900 block of South Central Park Avenue around 10:40 Saturday night when an unknown male came up and fired shots, Sedevic said.

The three victims were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. Police are investigating the shooting, and no one is in custody, Sedevic said.

Two people were shot earlier Saturday, including a man who died after being wounded near U.S. Cellular Field.
