CHICAGO — A man has been charged with a shooting that left one dead and two others injured in Little Village during a bloody weekend in June 2013.

Cesar Torres, 22, of the 3000 block of South Kenneth Avenue, was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

He's accused of killing of Ricardo Herrera, 21, of the 2400 block of South Marshall Boulevard.

About 10:45 p.m. on June 15, Herrera was walking with two others in the 2500 block of South Ridgeway Avenue when Torres approached, took out a handgun and fired, according to a statement from police.

Herrera was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:13 a.m. after taking bullets in his forehead, cheek and calf, police initially said.

A 20-year-old man and another male whose age was not given were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with bullet wounds, according to cops.
