CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man has been charged in the May 2011 shooting that left one dead and one wounded in Austin.

Lavonte Moore, 26, was extradited from South Carolina and charged in Chicago with one count of first-degree murder. Moore fled after the shooting to avoid prosecution, according to police.

Police said they believe Moore was the shooter in a May 20, 2011, incident in the 4700 block of West Van Buren Street. Henry Taylor, 32, was killed and a 17-year-old boy wounded.

Moore was ordered held without bail by Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr.
