CHICAGO — A man who jumped from a window of his burning home earlier this month in the Near West Side neighborhood has died.

Roy Harmon, 53, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital Tuesday after a fire at his home in the 1800 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

The blaze started inside the four-story building about 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 3, authorities said.

Following the incident, a fire official said a 53-year-old man jumped from a third-story window of the building and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious-to-critical condition.
