CHICAGO — A teen was shot Saturday afternoon on the Howard Street border between Chicago and Evanston, police said.

The 18-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 500 block of West Howard Street about 2:30 p.m., said Cmdr. Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department.

The Chicago man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition, Parrott said.

Evanston police are investigating the shooting, and said anyone with information can call 847-866-5000 or text anonymously to CRIMES (274637), including the message EPD TIP.

It's the second shooting in the Rogers Park area this week. On Wednesday, 17-year-old Markeyo Carr was fatally shot in an incident that wounded three other teens at a neighborhood McDonald's. Chicago police continue to investigate, and believe a teen rapper may have been the intended target.
