CHICAGO — Two people, including a 16-year-old boy, were stabbed overnight in the Brighton Park neighborhood.

The most recent stabbing happened at about 12:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of South Campbell Avenue. A 23-year-old man was standing on a corner when another man approached and stabbed him in the left side of the neck, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

The man was taken to St. Anthony Hospital by friends, but was later transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition, said Alfaro.

About 10 minutes later, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed after walking into a party in the 4400 block of South Fairfield Avenue. Two men approached him after he entered, beating and stabbing the teenage boy, said Alfaro.

The boy was taken to St. Anthony Hospital with a stab wound to the upper right chest. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, said Alfaro.

Both incidents appeared to be gang-related and no on was in custody for the stabbings.
