The comedian, who has been seen on "Chelsea Lately" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," performs several shows at Zanies Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $25 plus two minimum orders of food or drinks.

How To Make Your Own Indian Spice Blends at Whole Foods, 1550 N. Kingsbury St., noon or 7 p.m.
Cookbook author Anupy Singla teaches students how to make their own garam and chana masalas. The class will also include making chickpea curry paired with an Indian side salad and spiced raita. Tickets, which may be bought online, are $10.
Houndmouth at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.
Rock band Houndmouth plays the venue along with Howell Dawdy. The show is $20 for those 21 and older.
Saturday
Second Saturdays: Maps at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
The museum invites kids and families to play history detectives by using a compass and connecting various artifacts to their city origins. It's free with museum admission, and admission is free for kids 12 and under.

Musician Jonathan Wilson headlines the night at Lincoln Hall. Tickets are $15 and restricted to those 21 and older.

"Macbeth" at Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., 3 p.m.
