CHICAGO — A teenager who filmed himself and two others fatally beating a father of 12 has pleaded guilty in the murder case, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Nicholas Ayala was sentenced to 27 years in prison for the 2012 murder of Delfino Mora, a Mexican immigrant and musician, who was left dead in an alley in the 6300 block of North Artesian Avenue.

Ayala and Anthony Malcolm, who was found guilty in the case last year, recorded the incident on the cell phone of Malik Jones, a third defendant who has been charged in the case, prosecutors said.

The three picked out Mora as a victim in what was believed to be a game of "Pick 'em Out, Knock 'em Out," based on evidence presented at Malcolm's trial last year.

After the attack, the group left Mora in the alley, but Jones and Ayala later returned to take money from the victim's wallet, according to prosecutors.

The video, which includes sound of Mora's head hitting the concrete, was later posted on Jones' Facebook page.

Malcolm was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Jones is awaiting trial.
