PILSEN — Puffs of Doom, a gourmet cream puff company based out of Pilsen, will now sell its puffs at Dia de los Tamales on Fridays.

Both companies are fixtures at Pilsen's Community Market and Dia De Los Tamales co-owner Jeni Wahl said the partnership just felt right.

"We have a lot of similar customers, but it's helped draw a lot of their customers to our place and expose some of our customers to their product," Wahl said.

Started by Rebecca Vanderkloot and partner Luke Petillon in 2011, Puffs, which doesn't have a storefront, can be found year-round at fests like Lollapalooza and Pitchfork and at many farmers markets around the city. Puffs has also been selling wholesale at Bridgeport's Jackalope Coffee and Tea House since last year.

Five different puffs flavors — including sweet, savory and even vegan options — will be available every Friday at the tamale spot at 939 W. 18th St. during regular business hours, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. or until all the puffs are sold.

This Friday's flavors include vanilla chocolate ganache, salted caramel hot chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate covered pretzel, and vegan apple pie.

Friday is also the last day you can get in on a Super Bowl package created by the two companies. The $125 package includes two dozen tamales, homemade tortilla chips, one quart of salsa, one gallon of vegan black bean, corn chili or spicy meat chili, and one dozen puffs, half oreo and half chocolate caramel stout.
