CHICAGO — A man died Thursday after he was stabbed in Belmont Cragin earlier this week, authorities said.

Danny Melendez, 38, was stabbed in his thigh during a fight with a 31-year-old woman in the 2300 block of North Cicero Avenue about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

Melendez was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died of his wounds at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The woman was taken into custody, police said, but she has not yet been charged.
