Cops Warn of Armed Robberies on the Near West Side

CHICAGO — Police have issued a community alert after a man robbed at least three people at gunpoint on the Near West Side.

In each incident, the attacker walked up to the victim, pulled a gun and demanded property, police said. The attacks occurred:

• In the 2100 block of West Warren Boulevard on Jan. 15 at 9 a.m.

• In the first block of North Leavitt Avenue on Jan. 20 at 11:45 a.m.

• In the 2100 block of West Madison Avenue on Jan. 24 at 3:30 p.m.

Cops describe the robber as a 28- to 35-year-old black man. He's between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 and weighs roughly 180 pounds.
