Three Killed, 10 Wounded in Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO — Three people were killed and 10 others wounded over the weekend, including a 15-year-old boy killed Sunday evening in Little Village.

The most recent shooting occurred around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

A man was standing on the sidewalk in the 500 block of East 71st Street in Park Manor when someone approached and fired shots, striking the man in his stomach. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

Around 6:35 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in his shoulder while in the 1400 block of West Pratt Boulevard in Rogers Park. The boy was taken to St. Francis Hospital in stable condition, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

In other weekend violence, Miguel Navarette, 15, of the 2800 block of South Karlov was fatally shot Sunday evening in Little Village.

Another 15-year-old boy was among four people injured in shootings between Saturday and Sunday.

Two people were killed and five others were wounded in shootings Friday night into Saturday.
