CHICAGO — An overturned semi-truck blocked traffic near the intersection of the Dan Ryan and Stevenson expressways in Bridgeport for several hours Monday.

The ramp reopened Monday around 9 p.m, state police said.

The truck was heading southbound on the Dan Ryan about 3:50 p.m. Monday when it flipped while exiting the expressway on the southbound Stevenson ramp, state police said.

Investigators believe sheet metal inside the truck shifted as the vehicle took the corner.

A small amount of diesel fuel spilled onto the expressway, but had been cleaned up by 6:30 p.m.

The truck's driver, a 39-year-old man from Dyersville, Iowa, was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured, state police said.
