Man, 21, Killed in Afternoon Shooting on South Side

CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was found shot to death Wednesday afternoon inside a building near the border of Englewood and West Englewood.

Police responded to a call of a person shot in the 6900 block of South Racine Avenue at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti, a police spokeswoman. The victim had been shot in his stomach.

Jonathan Johnson, 21, whose home address is unknown, was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody, and no further information was available.
