UPTOWN — The annual Lunar New Year Parade and Festival is coming back to the Argyle Street area in Uptown for another year of lion and dragon dancers, floats, firecrackers and more.

The parade procession is scheduled to start outside the Hip Sing Association, 1121 W. Argyle, at 11 a.m. Feb. 1, according to Uptown's chamber of commerce, Business Partners.

The procession will head east down Argyle, then north along Sheridan Road, west up Ainslie Avenue and then take back north on Broadway, toward Argyle. The event is expected to end around 1 p.m.

A full schedule of other Lunar New Year activities hadn't been released.

Business Partners said it seeks volunteers to help during the parade passing out envelopes containing coupons, specials and promotions from businesses in the Argyle area, which is known for an array of Asian dining options and community groups.

Anybody interested in volunteering can email info@uptownbusinesspartners.com for more information.
