Boy, 15, Shoots Girlfriend While Showing Her Gun, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy accidentally shot his girlfriend in her chin while showing her a gun at his Roseland home Friday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 10000 block of South Perry Avenue about 3:30 p.m., according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital where her condition has "stabilized."

The boy was taken into juvenile detention and was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon with a defaced serial number.
