CHICAGO — If you've got a question that you want Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd) to answer, you can ask him during an online session Friday on the social media site Reddit.

Scheduled for 1-3 p.m., the "Ask Me Almost Anything" event was announced earlier this week.

"The alderman will be happy to answer any questions about the city and its issues," the update said. Waguespack said he would be addressing "citywide and ward issues."

Waguespack, who lives in Bucktown, said he was asked by some young voters to participate in the online session.

Reddit is a social media news and entertainment site where users share links to news stories and vote the stories "up" or down," which results in page rank.  The site also has bulletin boards and forums.

Though the session hasn't begun, some Reddit users are already posting questions for Waguespack, who has served as the alderman of the 32nd ward since 2007, when he beat incumbent alderman Ted Matlak in a runoff election.

"Given your typical support of projects that improve quality of life in the city, why are you stirring up the anti-BRT crowd?" asks one Reddit user, referring to a city plan to bring higher-speed express buses, known as Bus Rapid Transit, to Ashland Avenue.

Another question, though, is not related to city business, as the author asks how to stop delivery of Yellow Pages and Tribune Red Plum advertising circular deliveries.
