CHICAGO — The Divvy bike-share system will be back in service Thursday after it was shut down earlier this week due to "life-threatening" wind chills.

"It seems Chicago is finally escaping its week of extreme weather and is heading back toward a more regular winter routine," according to Divvy's Tumblr page.

The bikes will be available some time Thursday morning after the network went out of service at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The service was also shut down two days last week because of the weather.
