CHICAGO — A crash involving two cars and a CTA bus sent four people to local hospitals in serious-to-critical condition Monday morning, authorities said.

The crash happened in the 2000 block of East 103rd Street about 7:50 a.m., said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

A car lost control and hit the front of an eastbound No. 14 Jeffery Jump bus before hitting another car, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said.

Four people, whose ages and genders were not immediately available, were hospitalized in serious-to-critical condition, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight said.

Among those injured were the bus driver and a passenger on the bus, Hosinksi said.

The No. J14 and the No. J15 buses were rerouted afterward.

The collision happened just as temperatures reached record lows in the city.
