CHICAGO — Three cops were injured when an SUV crashed into their squad car in Irving Park Thursday night, police said.

The unmarked squad car was traveling north on North Pulaski Road about 11 p.m. when a southbound SUV trying to make a left turn crashed into it, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The three officers were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries while the SUV's driver was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The driver was cited for having no insurance, negligent driving, failing to reduce speed and failing to yield right of way during a left turn.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
