LAKEVIEW — Kids got the winter blues?

Local children's bike shop Heritage Littles is hoping some milk, cookies and music will help cure that with a new biweekly concert series that debuts this week.

Heritage Littles, 2868 N. Lincoln Ave., which features a milk and cookie bar, will kick off its "Milk & Cookies Happy Hour: The Lakeview Children's Acoustic Music Series" on Friday.

The performances will feature children's musicians like How Are You Mr. Dan?, who teaches English to students through song, and Miss Jamie From the Farm, a puppet "barnyard adventure" that includes a sing-along portion. Magicians and comedians will make appearances, too.

"We have compiled a different act each week to try to keep kids active and happy during this cold season," Joshua McClaren, Heritage Littles' events manager, said in an email.

Friday's first concert starts at 3 p.m. at the shop, which opened in the fall. The concerts continue every other week until April.

Here's the tentative lineup for the series:

Friday: "Mr. Nicky & Friends" variety show, with How Are You Mr. Dan?, Miss Jamie From the Farm, comedian Rob Ben-Joseph and magician Keith Cobb.

Jan 17: Miss Jamie From the Farm show and CD release party. Tickets $6 each, 1 and under free. Two paid tickets are good for one free CD.

Jan 31: Poochamungas

Feb 14: Sarah Jayne Lane

Feb 28: Istvan and His Imaginary Band

March 14: Human Tim

March 28: Little Miss Ann

April 11: Super Stolie

April 25: Miss Jamie & Friends Series Finale, with more guests to be determined.
